FanFlex is all about helping independent artists be successful in their local communities. Making sure that artists achieve their goals and share their talent with their hometowns. So, we found a few tips we from IAMA, written by Jessica Brandon, on how to me more successful as an independent artist!
1. Listen and Learn
Make sure to listen to other styles of music and learn from them. A lot of genres have burrowed from various types of music, so expanding your knowledge and listening to an array of styles can help you as an artist with creativity and inspiration.
2. Focus on Your Strengths
Stop making the same mistakes over and over. If you know something is not working for you, then focus on your strengths as a musician and how you can work around skills you need to work on. If you are not as confident in performing or writing music, get help from someone who can help you in that department until you see progress or no longer need assistance.
3. Work on Your Artistry
Be yourself in the music you produce. Don't try to imitate others in their artistry if it is not who you are. Being authentic in your music and performances makes you a better artist/performer. Work on creating your own sound and reinvent yourself the way you see fit and feels genuine.
4. Be a Self Promoter
Put yourself out there! make sure to have a strong presence in your community and get your songs out there, build your social media and work on your image as an artist. Get noticed and make noise, that will help you establish and grow your fanbase. Utilize technology in your favor and use the resources available to get your name out there.
5. Perform Live
Streaming music is not enough, performing live is essential. Many performers have had to do their fair share of live performances. It comes with the territory of being an artist. Luckily, FanFlex is the best platform for booking live Shows!!
6. Show Gratitude
Make sure to thank those that have helped in your journey to becoming who you are as an artist/performer. Just showing gratitude to your fans, bandmates, managers, friends, family, and all who have been there through your journey goes a long way.
