You’ve finally got a gig, but how are you going to get the word about your upcoming dream concert? For today’s Tuesday Tips, brought to you by MusicMarketingGuy’s Corey Koehler, these eleven tips are great starting points on how you can create that perfect viral message that’ll get tickets flying out the doors and people driving on over. Read up on these easy tips to make sure that every concert you book with Fanflex is a concert that’ll get many people talking about it.
1. Know your Target
Before posting anything, know which social media platform is going to get the crowd you want. For example, younger fans are apt to use TikTok, while millennials are more inclined to using sites like Instagram and Twitter.
You don’t have to limit yourself to just one, though! Just know which ones can give you the best exposure from the best audiences.
2. Start Earlier than Usual
If you want your post to spread around the platform, you need to give it some time. For best exposure, try planning and publishing your posts and content around three weeks before the show.
Don’t attempt to publish anything right before the show. By publishing early, that’s time for the post to spread and for your attendees to plan their schedules around your show!
3. Get People Curious
When making ads about the show, don’t put too much information on them. Try to get them intrigued, as curious viewers may follow and see what you post in the future relating to the show.
Boom: followers looking for follow-ups.
4. Show your Past Events
It’s also important to give potential attendees a taste of what you’re all about, and there’s no better way of doing that than sharing videos or photos of your past gigs in your posts. If the show looks like fun, they’ll want to go more so than before.
5. Create a little FOMO
We all hate the fear of missing out, but don’t be afraid to use that fear to your advantage!
When talking about your concert, make it feel like an experience that absolutely nobody wants to miss. Phrases like “only fifteen tickets left” and “the music event of the year” help create that sense of urgency, which fuels the viewer’s absolute NEED to go.
6. Engage with your Audience
Don’t sound like a robot when making content. Instead, get personable with your audience and describe your concert like you’re telling your friend about it.
Write about the songs, write about the emotions, write about the fun. Write with positive adjectives and use your words!
7. Be Upfront about Ticket Costs
One of the most important things that any potential attendee wants to know is costs. Sure, your event is going to be a blast, but they don’t want to blast their wallets to kingdom come either. Be upfront and transparent.
If you’ve got any kind of promotions, such as sales and discounts, that’s information that should be included as well!
8. Include the Date and Time
Along with the price, the timing is also very important. Sure, there’s interest, and they have the money; but do they have the time to attend? Many of your potential attendees are going to want to come, so make sure that information is front and center!
9. Tag Fellow Musicians
If they’re in the show, they’re also in your posts. Tagging musicians you’ll be performing alongside is important since their engagements on your posts can lead to engagements from their fans, which allows the message to spread more than ever before!
It’s also wise to tag organizers and managers as well. It’s also not a bad idea to tag FanFlex for concerts we helped set up!
10. Get Some Local Influencers Onboard
What’s a better way of getting a community interested in your show than by getting big names in said community to talk about it? Influencer advertising is huge, so get some potential bloggers and journalists to stop by and see what you’ve got.
11. Don’t Forget to Promote Offline
Remember that while social media is great for advertising, it’s not the perfect solution. To make up for those who don’t lurk online by putting up some flyers in the real world! Put them up in highly-visible, high-traffic areas for best results! Don’t forget that QR code! It’s a very easy way for viewers to find out more information about your show.
Above all, your friends here at FanFlex are happy to give you pointers on getting the word out over the Internet.
