As a live performing artist, taking care of yourself physically is extremely important. However, maintaining your vocal health is important too, not only so you can give fans the best experience possible while singing live, but also so you feel confident in yourself as an artist. Here are some remedies to help with vocal health, keep you feeling comfortable, and keep your voice sounding healthy and smooth.

Warming up your voice before a show is essential. Running through vocal warm ups helps loosen and relax your vocal cords. This reduces the chance of building up too much tension in your throat and injuring your voice. Also, the more you practice warming up your voice, the better you will do to train your vocal spectrum and range.

Make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day. Drinking water is essential to maintaining a healthy diet. If you want to make sure your voice feels healthy throughout the day, you need to make sure you are keeping it well moisturized. Water consumption is very beneficial to keeping your voice smooth and comfortable. Another important remedy to drink is hot tea. This helps heal your voice and maintain your body’s overall health. Also, adding honey and lemon to your hot tea is a good tip to soothe your throat.

Try out Grether’s Pastilles. These are small gummy mints that heal your throat and provide a protective film that surrounds your throat. Well-known artist “Ariana Grande” recommended these to her vocal students and they have now become an excellent cure for singers’ voices. “The blackcurrant soothes irritated throats and also is high in vitamin c and beta carotene.” (Fresh Pair of ISS, 2021) They are guaranteed to heal strained vocal cords that have been overused.

FanFlex wants to assure their artists that they care for their health and can perform at the best of their ability at shows. Feeling uncomfortable or unsure with your health needs to be taken seriously because it can cause an even greater issue in the future. These three treatments are outstanding ways to help maintain your vocal health as a singer and create a great experience for your fans.
