25 Apr How To Prepare For a Live Show

Getting in the right headspace for a live performance is crucial for any artist. This establishes a positive environment for not only the artist, but the crew, band, and fans attending the show. Preparing and creating a healthy atmosphere for everyone involved in your show is important to having a great live show. Here are some other tips and tricks to help you get ready for a live performance.

Do something that makes you happy the day of the show. Whether it be getting your favorite smoothie, doing yoga or a meditation in the morning, or just hanging out with friends and family that keep you positive are great ideas. Staying in a positive mindset throughout the day makes performing live much easier and helps performers put their best foot forward.

Prepare a good setlist. Making sure your setlist is solid and will make your fans happy is very important. Fans want to hear your most popular songs so they can sing them along with you and with the rest of the audience. But, it would also be a great idea to add in some unreleased music because it makes the audience want more and find those new songs after your performance.

Soundcheck. This is very important because it ensures that you practiced beforehand and have an overall professional sounding show. Although, sometimes only bigger venues allow soundchecks because they have a lot of equipment to handle, but you should always attend soundchecks if they hold one. Making sure your band sounds the way you want and the volume of your voice sounds good from anywhere in the venue is key to a great performance.

These are a few tips and tricks to ensure you are preparing the right way for a live performance. Overall, staying positive throughout the day and caring for yourself is crucial because it will eventually lead to you having a great attitude for your show.
