INTERVIEW WITH MAEVERLEY

17 Feb INTERVIEW WITH MAEVERLEY

Interview by Summer Armstrong

Maeve Riley is a California native, born and raised in Rancho Cucamonga, where her love for the arts began at the age of five.

Since then, she has been a part of FOX’s I Can See Your Voice, UCLA’s School of Theater, Film, and Television, and has written, produced, directed and performed in Shinbone Theater’s Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’s Cabaret.

However, after years of creating art for others, Maeve is ready to step into her own light. She and her band, Maeverley, are excited to show the world what they’ve got.

“It’s really the first time I’ve looked at myself objectively as an artist and done something solely for me” – Maeve Riley, for FanFlex.

Their creative process when it comes to songwriting starts off individually then gradually becomes a collaborative effort where Dan, Joe, Tyler, and Maeve join together to collectively create this little masterpiece.

“We’re creating something to exist in this world and we get to put our own full force behind it to honor ourselves” – Maeve Riley, for FanFlex.

With a new single on the way called “We Were A Monster” she describes the song as “very dreamy, almost folky, Fleetwood Mac [sort of] song with undertones that create a very wistful and eerie feeling” – Maeve Riley, for FanFlex.

From a vocal standpoint, Maeve’s artistic inspirations stem from powerhouse vocalists like Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, and Mariah Carey. As a band, their artistic inspirations range from MGMT, Fleetwood Mac, Cocteau Twins, and Tears for Fears.

Maeve heard about FanFlex through her bandmate Joe who “recommended it as a wonderful resource to really get us out there and start getting shows on the book” – Maeve Riley, for FanFlex.

“To have a team of people dedicated to advocating for working artists who don’t have their foot in the door quite yet is very exciting because it makes you feel like there is something to work towards and something to look forward to as an artist” – Maeve Riley, for Fanflex.

Catch Maeverley’s first show and single release for “We Were A Monster” on February 24th at Hotel Ziggy!
