The music industry is getting back into the swing of things! With live events starting to pop up all over the place, fans could not be more excited. It is important to take the energy that fans have, and amplify it as much as possible! You want that passion to carry over into the live shows, the next single, the next album, and so much more. Here are With the Band’s top tips for stronger and more consistent fan engagement.

1.  Share User Generated Content

Our first tip is to share what your fans have posted about you. This is just a simple click away and can include resharing posts or retweeting fans. Harry Styles HQ on TikTok does a great job of this! They repost Harry content made by fans, and then hyperlink out to their pages. Not only does this excite fans, but it also encourages other fans to create and share content for their favorite artists. This is a great way to get fans talking about whatever event comes next for you!

2.   Commenting

Another simple way to increase engagement is to start commenting on posts that you are tagged in. This takes little to no time at all, but will make a fan’s day! It is easy and is guaranteed to bring attention to your fans’ posts about you. Ashton Irwin is an artist who is a great example for this! He is always replying to his fans’ posts about him on his Twitter, and it has encouraged his fans to post more about him and his music. If you are currently teasing a new tour, fans will help fuel the fire of keeping that interest alive before you announce the dates, and all the way through until the end of the tour weeks or even months later! Just by knowing that you may comment on their post, fans will keep on talking about you.

3.   Show Your Personality

Be sure to show your personality through your posts! This is a great way to increase your fan engagement. This can be done through sharing posts of your everyday life outside of being an artist. Don’t just show your work, show yourself! Kevin Jonas does a great job at showing his personality beyond the Jonas Brothers. He often shares posts about his daughters and his family which fans respond well to! Fans will stay more connected to you if they feel like they truly know you. That sense of having a personal relationship with you and what’s going on in your life is what will keep fans coming back!

4.   Consistency

One of the most important ways to increase fan engagement is to be consistent! It is imperative that you stay in communication with your fans as much as possible. You want to create something of a schedule for when you will be most active. This helps fans anticipate what ways are best to engage with you. Lizzo is a great example of this! She frequently posts on both TikTok and Instagram while also continuously commenting on posts she is tagged in. It can be great to surprise fans now and again, but if they know when you will be active on your socials, then they will be waiting to join in on the conversation with you and each other!

5.   Provide a Space for Fans to Talk

Another tip to increase fan engagement across social media is to create a space for fans to meet and talk! This encourages fans to communicate with each other. Whether they are virtual or in person, fan meetups are a great way to get fans in contact with one another. The Jonas Brothers did this when they hosted Zoom rooms for their fans, and it was a huge success! Fans of course want to feel close to their favorite artist, but they also long for a sense of community amongst each other. Creating a safe space for them to share their love for you will help organically grow your fanbase!

Music fans are the backbone of the music industry today, and they have the ability to make all the difference in an artist’s career! By following these simple 5 tips, you are on your way to increasing your fan engagement! 💜
